May 14-20 is National Police Week. Flags are to be flown at half-staff today, May 15, "Peace Officers Memorial Day" in honor of all Police Officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Police Week recognizes those who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

All week in Washington, D.C. there will be events to celebrate the contributions of these brave men and women. The names of 155 Officers killed in 2006 and 311 killed in prior years will be added to the wall.
